About The Artist (Minu Gupta):
Minu Gupta, the artist and the teacher of Art is a very well known name in the Indian Diaspora of Metro Vancouver and among the artists of Tricities. She no longer needs an introduction as she has been actively engaging the community in various in -person and online art classes for the past few years. Her students include people of all ages including elementary age children to senior citizens.
Minu has been drawn towards drawing and painting from a very young age. After winning an art competition when she was in grade 8, she never looked back and continued progressing in the realm of art with her relentless efforts. She has completed Masters of Fine Arts from Agra University.
She continued on this path of artistic excellence and grabbed the opportunity to combine traditional art with technology and worked as a Graphic Designer for one and a half decade.
After moving to Canada in 2016, Minu did a sketching course from Langara College and Graphic Designer course from BCIT. The Covid Pandemic made her lose her job as a Graphic Designer, but it didn’t make her lose her passion for art. Minu found immense joy in teaching arts online to kids and adults.
Minu joined ArtFocus and she found herself a platform to showcase her art through exhibitions. She became a known name among the artists of Tricities.
As the great artist Salvador Dali once said, “A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others!” And we have such an artist among us; Minu Gupta.
Minu strongly believes that art has the same calming effect on us as the sound of waves or the sound of water has on our mind. Hence there was this inception of the theme Blissful Beach for this Acrylic Painting Workshop.
