South Asian Collective Society invites the community members to join Terry Fox Run in anyway you choose. The run will take place in Port Coquitlam on September 15, 2024. The run is walker, stroller and runner friendly, you can choose to participate in anyway you can. The organizer Mithila Karnik-Adarkar said “This will be my third year with my four year old daughter”.
The organizer told “consider registering as a participant, Donation is voluntary! Share it with your friends and family and let’s make it an amazing PoCo Terry Fox Run 2024”.

About Terry Fox:
Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. His right leg was amputated in 1977 after he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, though he continued to run using an artificial leg.
The Port Coquitlam native dipped his prosthetic leg in the Atlantic Ocean near St. John’s, N.L. on April 12, 1980, with the aim of running across Canada and finishing at the Pacific Ocean in Victoria, B.C. He was forced to abandon his journey at Thunder Bay, Ont., because cancer had spread to other parts of his body.
