Metro Vancouver’s best-kept little musical secret returns: Vasundhara’s Mehfil-e-Khaas comes back to Burnaby for a third intimate evening of ghazals and poetry
By invitation only, the evening brings 50 guests into a gathering of heart-warming poetry and music, Multihat Events presents the third edition of Vasundhara’s Mehfil-e-Khaas, an intimate, invitation-only evening of timeless ghazals, poetry and melodies, taking place August 29, 2026, in Burnaby.
Limited to 50 guests, Vasundhara’s Mehfil-e-Khaas has built a devoted following across Metro Vancouver for its moodlit, floor-seated format inspired by the world’s most intimate listening rooms — where the distance between artist and audience nearly disappears. Guests RSVP for an invitation, with the exact venue shared only with confirmed attendees closer to the date.
Vasundhara is a ghazal, Sufi and Bhakti vocalist trained in Hindustani Classical music from the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana. She has performed for audiences of 1,500 and headlined the acclaimed concert The Indus Sings, presented by Evergreen Cultural Centre and The Bandish Network this May. For this edition, she’ll be joined by some of the finest musicians in Metro Vancouver for an evening blending her own compositions with beloved classics — several requested in advance by her audience.
“My Mehfil isn’t a concert — it’s a conversation,” said Vasundhara. “I want every person in that room to feel like the music was made for them that night.” This edition follows two sold-out gatherings in Burnaby and West Vancouver, and comes as Vasundhara builds Mehfil-e-Khaas into a recurring series, with plans to bring the format to other cities.
