Priya Nijher-Dhillon is an accomplished Indian Singer and Actress whose soulful performances have captivated audiences across the globe, including India, Canada, the United States, England, Spain, and the Middle East.
She began her professional singing career in 1992 in Punjab with her debut album “Mehndi Wale Pair” and went on to release many songs thereafter, performing alongside numerous renowned singers across India and abroad. In 1993, she embarked on her first North American tour alongside the late Surjit Bindrakhia and Dilshad Akhtar.
Over the years, Priya has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Hans Raj Hans, Gurdas Maan, Debi Makhsoospuri, Sabar Koti, Harbhajan Mann, Balwinder Safri, Ranjit Kaur, and Mohammad Sadiq, among many others in the Punjabi music industry.
She has also lent her melodious voice to Punjabi films as a playback singer and acted in lead roles in several movies. Priya is known for her versatile and unique style, performing ghazals, Sufi kalams, and Punjabi folk with equal mastery. Her natural talent is supported by a strong academic foundation, including a Master’s and Master of Philosophy in Indian Classical vocal music, for which she was awarded a gold medal in India, a Master of Teaching Science degree from the United States, and advanced training in classical music under Ustad Prof. L. D. Pardesi of the Agra Gharana.
Priya maintains an active presence on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, where she has cultivated a dedicated following that appreciates her timeless voice and soulful performances. She will be performing her comeback show, “Priya Nijher’s Roohdariyan”, at the Delta Arts Centre on March 28.
