Namaste Canada is an Indian cultural event that celebrates the rich and diverse heritage of India in Vancouver, Canada. The event is organized by Consulate General of India (CGI), Vancouver and various dance groups, Indian Cultural Associations & community groups participate in it on volunteer basis. The event typically includes a range of Indian cultural activities including music, dance, and art. Namaste Canada is attended by people of all ages and backgrounds.
The event provides a platform for Indo-Canadians to showcase their cultural heritage and promote cultural understanding and appreciation among the wider Canadian community. It also provides an opportunity for non-Indians in Vancouver to learn about and experience the vibrant traditions, customs, and values of India.
More than 25 groups including cultural associations, societies, and dance troupes participated in Namaste Canada 2022 where 1,000 plus members of the Vancouver Indian Community attended the free event. This year the event Namaste Canada 2023 is going to place on September 2, 2023 just before the labor day long weekend.
Neeraj Kumar, founder of India Cultural Association (ICA) Of Vancouver said Namaste Canada is a wonderful initiative by CGI Vancouver which provides a platform to all the groups which represents different states of India in Metro Vancouver to showcase rich & diverse culture of India.
Overall, Namaste Canada is a lively and colorful celebration that brings together people of different cultures and backgrounds to celebrate the beauty and richness of Indian Culture in Vancouver, Canada.
