CGI Vancouver celebrated 9th International Day of Yoga


The Consulate General of India in Vancouver celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2023 at Vancouver’s David Lam Park on June 24, 2023 with the support of local Indian community organizations. Consulate General Mr Manish was among the Yoga enthusiasts who participated in the Yoga session in open park.

Local Yoga experts from the community (Anand, Bhavna Bhira Sahni, Kartik, Megha Gupta, Neeraj Kumar, Nutan Thakur, Tarana M Kaur) conducted the session which was attended by over 300 people from all walks of life. The Yoga session included Asanas (Yoga Postures), Pranayamas (Breathing Exercies), & Dhyan (Meditation). The session was conducted as per the Common Yoga Protocol set by Ministry of AYUSH, India.


The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day was Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which signifies the belief that “the world is one family”.

Some of the organizations who supported the event were India Cultural Association (ICA) Of Vancouver, Aarogya Canada, The Arts of Living Vancouver, Heartfulness Mediation, Isha Foundation, Lower Mainland Bengali Society (LMBCS), Marathi Society of BC (MSBC), Happyness Wellness Yoga & few more.
